The application of reducers in the global wastewater treatment industry: The "stabilizer" in the water purification chain

2025-07-15

Wastewater treatment is an important part of the global environmental protection cause. The reducer, as the "power core" of wastewater treatment equipment, ensures the stable operation of the system, which directly affects the purification effect and processing efficiency of the wastewater.

Efficient treatment of municipal wastewater: The submersible reducer in Singapore's new water factory drives the aeration impeller, rotating 120 times per minute, precisely controlling the oxygen solubility, and maintaining a COD removal rate of over 95% for the wastewater, providing 400 million cubic meters of reclaimed water annually for the city. The waterproof sealing performance of this reducer reaches IP68 level and can work underwater for 30 meters.

Precise treatment of industrial wastewater: In the industrial wastewater treatment center in the Ruhr region of Germany, the reducer is combined with variable frequency technology to achieve stepless regulation of the sludge pump flow rate. Each plant can handle 80,000 tons of chemical wastewater per day, reducing the sludge moisture content to below 60%. The gearbox uses special materials to resist the corrosion of wastewater.

Adaptability to special environments: The wastewater treatment plant in the Ganges Delta of India, with anti-corrosion reducers, resists the erosion of high-salt wastewater, extending the service life to 15 years, which is about 8 years longer than that of ordinary reducers. The small treatment station on the edge of the Amazon rainforest in Brazil, with high-temperature-resistant reducers, operates continuously in an environment above 40°C, ensuring that the wastewater treatment volume in the rainy season is twice that of the dry season, and the equipment failure rate is only 1.2%.

Comprehensive improvement of system efficiency: According to the International Water Association, wastewater treatment systems equipped with high-quality reducers have an overall equipment efficiency (OEE) of over 85%, which is 20 percentage points higher than that of ordinary systems. In the renovation of the wastewater treatment network in London, UK, after replacing with high-efficiency reducers, the energy consumption of the entire network was reduced by 12%.

Whether it is municipal or industrial wastewater treatment, reducers, with their stable performance and efficient power conversion, have become indispensable "stabilizers" in the global water purification process, providing a solid guarantee for water resource recycling.
